Role Purpose
Design, deliver, and continuously improve training programmes focused on the RB211 gas turbine, ensuring personnel are competent, compliant, and capable in the strip, inspect, build and troubleshooting of the equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Training Delivery
o Deliver classroom and practical training on RB211 gas turbine systems and components
o Strip, inspect, build and operation, maintenance, and fault diagnosis
o Health, Safety & Environmental procedures
o Conduct hands‑on training in workshop and field environments
o Assess trainee competency through tests, practical evaluations, and observations
* Course Development & Material Management
o Develop and maintain structured training package, including training manuals, presentations and technical guides, and assessment tools
o Ensure training content is technically accurate, aligned with Sulzer standards, and updated to reflect operational feedback and modifications
* Competency & Compliance
o Maintain competency matrices for personnel working on RB211 units
o Ensure all training meets company standards & regulatory requirements (client‑specific)
o Support audits and provide training records as required
* Technical Support & Knowledge Transfer
o Act as a subject‑matter expert (SME) for RB211 gas turbines
o Support operations and maintenance teams with technical queries & fault investigations
o Capture lessons learned from field activities and integrate into training
* Continuous Improvement
o Gather feedback from trainees and operations teams
o Identify gaps in knowledge, skills, or training delivery
o Drive improvements in training efficiency, effectiveness, and engagement
Qualifications & Experience
* Strong working knowledge of RB211 gas turbine systems
* Experience in turbine maintenance, overhaul, or field service
* Previous experience delivering or supporting technical training
* Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC/HND or equivalent experience)
* Desirable: Formal training/assessor qualification (e.g. Train the Trainer, A1 Assessor)
* Experience in offshore or oil & gas environments
* Familiarity with competency management systems
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to simplify complex technical information
* Strong organisational and documentation skills
* Analytical approach to problem‑solving
* High attention to detail and safety focus
Working Conditions
Combination of classroom, workshop, and field‑based training. Occasional travel to client sites may be required to assist with engine installation, removal and troubleshooting. Flexible working to support operational demands.
