Vacancy: Healthcare Support Worker – Oncology & Haematology
We have opportunities to work as a Healthcare Support Worker within the Oncology and Haematology department on Mulbarton ward, the Acute Oncology/Haematology service, and the Weybourne Day Unit – please specify which area you would like to apply for in your supporting statement.
Under the direction of the registered professional, you will work with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care delivered with dignity, respect and compassion. You will act as a role model for other colleagues and provide support and guidance as appropriate to your role.
Responsibilities by area
* Mulbarton Ward – 34 beds, caring for patients with cancer, chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, iodine therapy, side‑effect support, palliative care. 12‑hour shifts: 07:00‑19:30 or 19:00‑07:30. Contact Helen Payne (ward manager) 01603 647891 / helen.payne@nnuh.nhs.uk.
* Acute Oncology/Haematology service – outpatient care for patients with complications of disease or treatment, aimed at admission avoidance. 37.5 hours per week: Monday–Friday 09:00‑17:00. Contact Maria (unit manager) TRESA.GOPURATHINKAL@nnuh.nhs.uk.
* Weybourne Day Unit – 27 chairs for outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy. 37.5 hours per week: Monday‑Friday 08:00‑18:00 (four days). Contact Tina Shaughnessey Marion.Shaughnessey@nnuh.nhs.uk.
