Title: Multi:skilled Maintenance Engineer (Days)
Location: Brentwood, Essex
Shifts: Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm / 9am–5pm
Salary: Circa £42,000–£43,000 plus overtime (x1.5/x2) and extensive benefits below
Responsibilities
* Conduct regular inspections, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and perform repairs to ensure minimal downtime and optimal plant performance.
* Collaborate with management to investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement prevention strategies to eliminate waste.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Fully comply with internal and external EHS requirements (ISO 45001), including completing and reviewing Risk Assessments for your area.
* Provide specialist engineering support to other departments and assist with the commissioning and setup of new, high‑value factory equipment.
Requirements
* Proven maintenance engineering background within a GMP or highly regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceuticals, food, or medical devices).
* Educated to City and Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline.
* Multi‑skilled (Mechanical and Electrical) with experience in pumps, motors, and electrical diagnostics.
* Competence in basic machining (lathe/milling) and welding (MIG/ARC).
* Knowledge of PLC‑based equipment and IEE wiring regulations.Permanent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
