JOB TITLE: Toolmaker Apprentice
SITE LOCATION: Swish Tamworth, B79 7TF (Part of Epwin Group)
HOURS: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
Job Purpose:
Epwin Group is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of PVC windows, doors and fascia systems with some of the best-known manufacturing and service names in the sector. Group businesses also produce high quality cladding, guttering, decking and prefabricated GRP building components.
You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing; This position will be best suited to applicants with good practical skills and an interest in engineering-based projects. As a trained Toolmaker, you will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Produce components using hand fitting techniques
2. Preparing and using lathes for turning operations
3. Co-ordinate with suppliers to supply spare parts for machines
4. Preparing and using milling machines and using Grinding machines
5. Carry out the maintenance of Tooling & building repairs
6. Identifying and liaise with suppliers of maintenance services when required
7. Producing tool and die assemblies
8. Maintain and record work and machine breakdown history
9. Preparing and proving CNC machine tool programs
