Responsibilities Description of Role Role Responsibilities Working as a part of the BAU team on a fixed shift rota after the hours of 18:00 BAU works Installation of cabling requests (copper and fibre following HSBC required protocols) Attending to IN’s and faults Administration of client IT systems to ensure working procedures are followed. Liaising (written and verbal) with the client (and clients customers) to ensure works are delivered on time and communicated. Arranging and attending to change records when required. Provide on-call cover Carry out cable recovery when required in all areas Installation and connectivity of network equipment The role (place of work) shall be either SYGDC or WGDC (Tankersley / Wakefield) Own vehicle required and travel between sites Cabling installations Assisting cabling installation infrastructure teams Receipt and checking of deliveries Qualifications For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required. Must have the following Experience of data centre environment Experience of structured cabling systems (manufacture accreditations advantageous) Network equipment connectivity and installation experience Knowledge of different data centre platforms (I-Series, Z-Series, SAN amongst others) PC literate – (use of Microsoft office software) Health and Safety awareness (ECS, SSSTS or IOSH certification advantageous).
