Location: Great Eccleston Area
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Employer: Teaching Personnel (on behalf of a local primary school)
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a warm and welcoming village primary school in the Great Eccleston area to recruit a dedicated ASC Support Practitioner.

This rewarding role involves supporting a pupil in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them access learning, develop social and communication skills, and feel confident within the classroom environment.

✅ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support
  • Implement strategies for communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
  • Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning requirements
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Support pupils during transitions and throughout the school day

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with ASC or additional needs (education or care settings)
  • A patient, calm, and empathetic approach
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
