Zachary Daniels Retail Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Deputy Manager on behalf of a well-established and growing retail business. This is a key leadership role within a large-format store, offering significant responsibility and genuine career progression opportunities.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager to ensure the store operates safely, legally and commercially. You will take ownership of operational standards, compliance, team leadership and driving store performance.
Key Responsibilities as Deputy Manager:
Support the Store Manager in all operational aspects of the store
Ensure the store trades in a safe and legal manner at all times
Lead on compliance, audits and safe & legal training standards
Oversee stock management, wastage control and cost management
Manage rota planning and control of labour hours
Drive high store standards and excellent customer service
Inspire, coach and develop the wider team
About You:
We are seeking a proven retail leader from a fast-paced food environment, ideally with supermarket or large-format store experience. You will:
Have strong operational and compliance knowledge
Be confident managing teams and driving performance
Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills
Be highly organised with strong commercial awareness
Thrive in a busy, high-volume retail environment
