About the ISC Team
The Intelligence, Security & Crisis Management (ISC) team conducts various business, intelligence, and operational functions supporting BP’s ability to anticipate, prevent, respond, and recover from threats, risks, and incidents. ISC’s scope covers all of BP’s interests, functions, and operations globally. Its activities help mitigate principal risks requiring Board oversight.

Security-related risks today are increasingly complex, interconnected, and global. Proactive risk identification and management are essential.
Leadership and Responsibilities
Effective security leadership is crucial for BP’s success. It safeguards reputation, ensures operational continuity, protects physical and financial assets, and maintains confidence among staff, shareholders, and management. The VP of Security leads these efforts, delivering strategic and operational security solutions across BP’s global operations. They establish security policies, practices, and programs, ensuring their effective implementation to mitigate risks and enhance business performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a vital member of the ISC Leadership Team, promoting a unified ‘One ISC’ approach.
* Set and execute the company’s security strategy.
* Manage security risks across the portfolio, providing necessary capabilities and resources.
* Provide strategic leadership and guidance to a global team, aligning with BP Security initiatives and policies, including support for high-risk operations.
* Operate ISC Security as a business, managing budgets to deliver security strategies.
* Maintain awareness of geopolitical, political, economic, and social drivers of security risks to inform decision-making.
* Establish and maintain high-level relationships with law enforcement, government officials, and industry counterparts worldwide to support intelligence-led security.
Essential Experience and Requirements
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to inspire and energize a diverse, global team.
* Ability to lead through influence rather than authority.
* Proven experience in empowering teams and leading from behind.
* High intellectual flexibility and emotional intelligence to navigate ambiguity, organizational politics, and diverse personalities.
* Experience working across cultures or in international environments.
* Ideally, prior security management experience, with at least 5 years in a management role within a multinational security department or relevant government experience.
