About the Job you are considering:
The Scrum Master plays a critical role in enabling Investor Technology teams to deliver secure scalable cloud native solutions that support millions of UK retail investors Operating within a highly regulated financial services environment you will facilitate cross functional agile delivery teams building digital investor experiences on AWS You will champion Agile principles remove impediments foster collaboration and ensure teams continuously improve while adhering to Vanguards engineering compliance and security standards
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role:
1. Agile Delivery Facilitation
2. Lead and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies Daily Stand ups Sprint Planning Sprint Reviews Retrospectives Backlog Refinement
3. Ensure predictable delivery through strong cadence discipline and transparent progress monitoring
4. Maintain team focus on sprint commitments and align work to PI business priorities
5. 2 Stakeholder Product Collaboration
6. Partner closely with Product Owners UX Engineers Cloud Architects and Compliance stakeholders
7. Support backlog refinement prioritisation and slicing work into customer centric increments
8. Communicate team status risks dependencies and delivery forecasts across PI
9. 3 Team Coaching Continuous Improvement
10. Coach teams on Agile best practices flow optimisation DevOps culture and lean waste reduction
11. Promote psychological safety constructive challenge experimentation and data driven improvement
12. Strengthen engineering maturity by supporting adoption of automation CICD IaC and Cloud native patterns
13. 4 Cloud Technology Awareness AWS Focus
14. While you are not required to be a hands-on technologist the Scrum Master is expected to understand
15. AWS native delivery patterns Lambda ECS API Gateway DynamoDB CloudWatch etc
16. Security resilience and compliance expectations of financial services cloud platforms
17. DevOps pipelines release management automated testing and observability practices
18. 5 Governance Risk Management
19. Ensure Scrum delivery aligns with Vanguards risk audit and compliance controls e.g. secure coding change management operational resilience
20. Support regulatory documentation readiness for audits and technology risk review
21. Promote secure by design and cloud well architected thinking
Your Skills:
22. Strong experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead in technology teams
23. Proven track record supporting cross functional engineering teams ideally building digital consumer facing platforms
24. Working knowledge of cloud delivery environments AWS strongly preferred
25. Excellent facilitation coaching conflict resolution and servant leadership skills
26. Experience with Jira Confluence CICD pipelines and agile metrics Cumulative Flow Cycle Time Velocity
27. Ability to operate in regulated financial services contexts with high standards for quality security and resilience
28. Desirable
29. Experience in investment wealth or retail financial services platforms
30. Exposure to domain driven design microservices architecture and API centric ecosystems
31. SAFe PSM II or other advanced Agile certifications
