Veterinary Receptionist – Contract: Part‑Time, permanent – Location: Animals 1st, Macmerry
Responsibilities
* Welcoming clients and their pets in a professional and friendly manner.
* Managing front‑of‑house duties.
* Assisting with the processing of prescriptions for clients and dispensing medications.
* Booking appointments and maintaining patient records accurately and in a timely manner.
* Stock control and ensuring that waiting areas, consulting rooms, and offices are stocked and clean.
* Getting paperwork ready in advance for the vets.
* Assisting the vets and nurses as required.
* Registering new clients, explaining services and offers.
* Taking payments and processing daily banking.
* Performing other administrative tasks.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication skills and a professional, welcoming manner.
* Experience in a customer‑facing role, with a strong focus on service and attention to detail.
* The ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment.
* A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues.
* A proactive attitude, openness to feedback and learning.
Work Hours
Part‑time role – 30 hours per week, Monday‑Friday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
