Responsibilities
* Support in the creation and lead on the interpretation of analytics.
* Have good analytical, technical and communication skills in order to aid the production of accurate & robust statistics & intelligence.
* Manage the production of robust statutory and internal reports to support organisational decision‑making.
* Assist with the production, validation and submission of the Trust’s routine data submissions.
* Assist members of the team in the production and validation of Ad‑hoc or High‑Profile Analytics, and in validating new or amended dashboards.
* Produce or validate intelligence or dashboards.
* Maintain awareness of the Trust’s external environment to identify and respond to variations from local or national trends.
* Deliver a hybrid working role, commuting into the Wigan office at least one day per week.
* Lead the production, validation and submission of the Trust’s National Datasets, Statutory Returns and other routine outputs.
* Offer first‑line support for BI queries & requests, monitoring and managing the BI mailbox, helpline and other communication methods.
* Provide statistical/management intelligence and advice to senior leaders, managers and directors within the Trust.
* Support the quality and safety improvement within the division by providing analysis on measurement, reporting and data capture requirements.
* Produce and review regular weekly and monthly performance reports and disseminate to key divisional contacts.
* Collaborate with the accountants to understand financial performance impact.
* Play a key role in obtaining divisional agreement on performance targets.
* Update bed models to support ongoing monitoring, create scenarios for business planning and service redesign, liaising with the Project Management Office.
* Maintain consistency in reporting format across analysts.
* Perform horizon scanning to anticipate business opportunities and support the division/Trust.
* Contribute to improvement plans through routine reviews and monitoring of performance.
* Produce sensitive and confidential data for ad‑hoc requests, liaising with departments and agencies to meet tight deadlines.
* Analyse patient‑based data from Trust systems using provided tools, primarily the data warehouse.
* Support the development of the data warehouse, working closely with the project team.
* Interpret national guidance and implement changes to the data warehouse, databases and views.
* Identify data anomalies, provide analysis and participate in investigations/audits to reduce reoccurrence risk.
* Advise on initiatives for new data collection and analysis practices (e.g., HRGs, Payment by Results).
* Acquire routine reports, undertake ad‑hoc analyses for reporting and presentation.
* Attend Trust training programmes.
* Stay conversant with multimedia design developments and QlikSense.
* Act as a catalyst for a data‑driven culture, providing guidance on information management and data quality issues.
* Assist with adding and maintaining content in the online analytics system.
* Design and develop analytics applications in collaboration with Trust staff.
* Maintain web‑based material and create new documents as required.
* Work on other multimedia projects within the team.
* Stay informed of NHS national developments and the wider data analytics community.
* Utilise design software to create media for various projects.
* Work with end users to assess reporting needs and share solutions with data engineers.
* Provide training sessions individually or in groups as needed.
* Ensure up‑to‑date datasets and feeds via the data warehouse, tables and databases.
* Resolve analytical reporting problems and issues with users.
* Conduct briefing sessions and facilitate training days on the use and interpretation of analytics applications.
* Document all procedures and collaborate with the Production & Modernisation Department to improve Trust information.
* Support IT solutions within the data analytics and assurance department.
* Support the Trust’s Data Strategy, quality improvement strategies and Service Line Management agenda.
* Provide advice and analyses for operational management, service planning and attend meetings as required.
* Interpret current data definitions and stay updated on new Department of Health definitions.
* Produce sensitive and confidential data for ad‑hoc requests.
* Liaise with departments and agencies to meet tight deadlines.
* Troubleshoot data issues and work toward improving and automating processes with data engineers.
* Research and recommend innovative, automated approaches for data analytics reporting.
* Collaborate with the Trust’s Database Administrator and other technical leads.
* Assist in producing sophisticated models, analytics and forecasts using statistical methods.
* Provide individual advice and discussion to Staff requiring BI data support.
* Assist with data literacy training for non‑technical staff and organisations using the Trust’s training facilities.
* Promote and train on new data analytics solutions to ensure full utilisation.
* Identify efficiencies, balancing safety, quality and performance impacts.
* Deliver performance reports accounting for productivity, quality, income, expenditure, risks and forecasts.
* Identify data and service quality issues, developing new metrics for resolution.
* Review division or Trust performance against national and local trends.
* Participate in on‑call rota if required for an operational role.
Qualifications
* Excellent numeracy, logical and communication skills.
* A‑Level in relevant subjects or equivalent experience & knowledge in Analytics/Business Intelligence.
* Good analytical, technical and communication skills.
* Experience in interpreting national guidance and implementing changes to data structures.
* Knowledge of QlikSense and other data‑visualisation tools.
* Ability to produce, validate and submit statutory and routine statistical reports.
