Starting salary between £33,510 and £40,383 (pro rata) per annum
14.5 hours per week (Tuesday and either Wednesday/Thursday with flexibility)
Based at King’s Court Council Offices, King’s Lynn
We have a rare opportunity for you to join our small, dedicated Licensing team as a Licensing Enforcement Officer. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance across a wide range of licensed activities, from taxis and alcohol premises to animal welfare and gambling.
You will carry out inspections, investigate complaints, and take enforcement action where necessary, including formal legal proceedings. This is a dynamic and varied role that involves working independently in the community, liaising with stakeholders, and representing the Council at hearings and tribunals.
You will have strong investigative skills, a solid understanding of licensing legislation, and experience in enforcement procedures including PACE and RIPA. You will have excellent communication and analytical abilities, confidence in presenting evidence, and a commitment to high-quality service. A Level 3 Award for Animal Licensing Inspectors and a full driving license to travel around our borough are essential. If you're adaptable, self-motivated, and ready to make a difference, apply now.
Closing Date: 2 September 2025
