Our client is now looking for a Business Development Manager to join there expanding team and play a key role in driving forward our pipeline of new opportunities. Role Overview As Business Development Manager, you will lead efforts to grow our presence across the construction sector, focusing on generating new business, nurturing relationships, and building strategic partnerships that align with our company’s capabilities. Key Responsibilities * Identify, target, and pursue new business opportunities within the construction, Maintenance, and property development sectors. * Build and maintain strong relationships with main contractors, developers, architects, consultants, Social Housing and local authorities and key decision-makers. * Manage the full business development cycle — from initial contact and qualification to proposal preparation and contract negotiation. * Collaborate with commercial, operations, and delivery teams to ensure aligned, tailored client solutions. * Represent our client at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions to raise brand visibility and generate leads. * Track market trends, competitor activity, and project pipelines across our geographic regions. * Report on progress, pipeline, and performance to senior management, delivering strategic insights. * Consistently meet or exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs. Key Skills & Experience * Proven experience in business development or commercial roles within the construction sector. * Strong knowledge of fit-out, refurbishment, and construction project lifecycles. * Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. * Ability to quickly build rapport and trust with new and existing clients. * Highly self-motivated with strong time management and organisational skills. * Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office. * Full UK driving licence (preferred due to regional travel requirements). Desirable Attributes * Existing network of industry contacts (main contractors, developers, or architects). * Background in subcontracting, main contracting, or construction product supply. * Understanding of tendering processes and frameworks.
