Role Overview As the waking night staff member you will: * Be awake and alert throughout the night, supporting the children, responding to any incidents, behaviours or needs in a calm, therapeutic manner. * Drive if required (transporting children, responding to incidents off‑site, escorting to appointments) – so a full driving licence is mandatory. * Work collaboratively with awake day staff, the therapist, house manager and wider team to ensure continuity of care and consistency of approaches. * Apply your knowledge and experience of EBD, trauma, behavioural interventions, de‑escalation techniques and therapeutic models to support children’s emotional regulation, safety and growth. * Contribute to night‑time routines, monitoring, recording incidents, behaviours and safeguarding concerns, and liaising with other team members at handover. * Support a stable, nurturing environment where children feel safe, understood and supported even through night hours.
