Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a supportive secondary school in Daventry, looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic English Instructor to join their team immediately. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with a background in education, tutoring, or alternative provision, who is confident teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality English lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and 4, using prepared materials and resources
* Support students in developing literacy, comprehension, and creative writing skills
* Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs, including those with SEND or SEMH needs
* Work closely with the English department and pastoral teams to ensure consistency and student progress
* Provide feedback, assess understanding, and contribute to a positive classroom climate
* Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student confidence and resilience
Qualifications
* A strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language
* Experience working with secondary-aged students in a school, tuition, or alternative setting
* Excellent communication skills and a calm, confident classroom presence
* The ability to build positive relationships with students from a range of backgrounds
* A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to wider school life
* A degree in English or a related field is preferred, though not essential
* Previous teaching experience or training is highly desirable
