Technical Production Coordinator
We are looking for a Technical Production Coordinator to join our expanding team as we continue to grow
The Technical Production Coordinator at ITN will work within the Technology department, primarily on the Good Morning Britain programme, and will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technical operations and production teams both in the studio and in the field. The primary day-to-day function will be the early morning, on-site supervision of production crewing and studio operations, alongside the planning of any special coverage. This position will work closely with the ITV Newsroom production management team. Additionally, the role involves strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial oversight to optimise production outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of live production understanding, organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams.
Whilst this role is assumed to be primarily service the Good Morning Britain production, as part of the Technology Production Services team there is expected to be opportunity to work across ITN's wider production remit.
Key Responsibilities
Production Coordination:
* The on-site, early morning representative of Technology's Production Services team, overseeing scenery changes, coordinating response to any staffing or technical support issues and liaising with ITV News teams for studio handover
* Provide technical production coordination support primarily for Good Morning Britain but also other ITV News special events
* Collaborate with the studio and field teams to ensure all technical requirements are met for live and recorded productions
* Maintain all health and safety documentation across the studio for Good Morning Britain
* Follow up on any technical issues which have occurred during the Good Morning Britain broadcast. This is to include the studio and any outside broadcast elements
Planning & Budgeting:
* Assist in resource allocation and planning to ensure efficient utilisation of staff and technical resources
* Monitor budgets related to production and technical operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints
Communication & Collaboration:
* Act as a liaison between production, editorial, and technical teams to align goals and expectations
* Provide clear documentation of technical workflows and standard operating procedures

Key Requirements
Required Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role within a media, broadcasting, or technology environment
* Strong understanding of production workflows and technical operations
* Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with live broadcasting or streaming platforms
* Experience in financial planning and budget management
* Excellent knowledge of studio production systems and technical workflows
