The role
Overview We’re supporting a FTSE 250 property and retail group in hiring a commercial lawyer to join their lean, high-impact legal team. This is a broad, hands-on role that suits someone who thrives on variety, enjoys visibility across the business, and wants to partner closely with senior stakeholders.

Experience Level: 4–6 PQE
Key Responsibilities Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, tech and supplier contracts
Lead on data protection matters, advising on marketing, analytics, e-commerce and day-to-day compliance
Provide quick, pragmatic advice to commercial teams, keeping projects moving at pace
Manage external counsel on disputes and specialist matters as needed
Improve legal processes, templates and playbooks to drive efficiency
What We’re Looking For Qualified solicitor, ideally 4–6 PQE with strong commercial and data protection experience
Track record in tech or SaaS contracting (in-house or private practice)
Comfortable handling a high-volume, fast-moving workload with autonomy
Clear communicator who can balance risk with commercial priorities
In-house experience welcome but not essential
