Eaton South Molton is a state‑of‑the‑art facility located in the heart of Devon, UK. Since 1973, our team of over 400 professionals has been delivering high‑quality aerospace components to renowned brands using precision engineering. Our 1975‑established one‑of‑a‑kind investment casting foundry uniquely positions us in the aerospace manufacturing arena, enabling us to design, manufacture, and test top‑tier components for customers such as Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Augusta Westland. The main customer for our South Molton plant is Eaton’s Titchfield facility in Hampshire, UK.
What You’ll Do
Manufacturing Team Manager will be responsible for overseeing and leading all activities associated with the manufacturing and production of deliverable product to meet customer expectations within a defined production area. He/She will monitor and manage hourly and salaried resources, assign work responsibilities, and align resources to load. In addition, this leader will drive continuous improvement in production, quality, and safety utilizing the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF).
Job Responsibilities
* Drive continuous improvement and application through the use of EBS, BOS, CIF, and HPWTs.
* Implement Lean activities to eliminate waste opportunities in key processes.
* Achieve key BOS metrics including TRCR, Productive Utilization, On‑Time Delivery, First Pass Yield and DPPM.
* Manage plant assets, leading maintenance and facilities resources.
* Implement MESH to improve year‑over‑year safety performance measures.
* Drive and develop team members, providing oversight and coaching.
* Provide vision and strategy.
* Lead by example – be a positive role model.
* Actively engage and recognize employees.
* Enable employee success by providing resources and removing barriers.
* Empower employees – drive decision‑making down through the organization.
* Drive High‑5 metrics for the assigned value stream.
* Maintain employee engagement and seek continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
* Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in Manufacturing/Operations.
* Minimum 1‑3 years of experience leading others.
Skills
* Strong computer skills: Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong leadership, coaching, and influence management; capable of balancing multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in Lean manufacturing/Operational Excellence tools such as 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, and process focus.
* Solid problem‑solving skills (e.g., 8‑D or A3).
* Highly motivated, visionary, and adaptable to change.
