The Business
Digitech are partnered with pre-seed construction technology startup on a mission to revolutionise how the built environment adopts digital solutions. Our focus is on building intelligent AI-powered platforms that can streamline workflows, automate decision-making, and drive efficiencies across the construction lifecycle.
The Role
The business are seeking an AI Engineer with a passion for building AI agent platforms from the ground up. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying intelligent multi-agent systems that integrate with construction data and industry workflows. Working closely with the founding team, you will have end-to-end ownership from research and prototyping through to production-level implementation.
This role is best suited to someone entrepreneurial, hands-on, and excited about applying AI to solve real-world problems in a sector ripe for digital transformation.
Responsibilities
* Design and build AI agent frameworks to automate construction-related tasks (knowledge retrieval, project management assistance, data interpretation, etc.).
* Develop pipelines for integrating construction datasets (structured and unstructured) into AI-driven systems.
* Research and implement advanced methods in multi-agent collaboration, planning, and reasoning.
* Contribute to system architecture, APIs, and scalable backend services to support AI agents in production.
* Collaborate with the founding team to align product features with customer pain points.
* Rapidly prototype and iterate to validate concepts with real users in the construction sector.
You'll Bring
* Strong background in AI/ML engineering (Python preferred), with experience in LLMs, reinforcement learning, or autonomous agents.
* Experience in a start-up at pre-seed or seed A funding round
* Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, Hugging Face, Ray, or similar agentic/LLM platforms.
* Preferably a masters or a doctorate in computer science and/or related field.
* Solid software engineering skills (APIs, microservices, cloud deployment, version control).
* Experience building from scratch in a startup, research, or fast-moving environment.
* Interest or exposure to construction technology, project management tools, or complex workflows (a plus, not essential).
* Curiosity, creativity, and drive—the ability to thrive in a lean, fast-changing early-stage company.
