The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine, and poverty.
With 20 years of experience in advocacy, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills benefiting nearly 500 million people in developing countries.
Regional Director — You don’t need to be a lobbyist to influence foreign policy. As a Regional Director, you’ll serve as a Borgen Project ambassador in your city, mobilizing friends, family, and colleagues to contact your government in support of key poverty reduction legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Meet with local government leaders and lobby for legislation that improves living conditions for the world’s poor.
* Mobilize community members to contact their government leaders supporting poverty reduction legislation.
* Manage and implement fundraising campaigns.
* Build a network of engaged supporters.
* Serve as The Borgen Project’s ambassador in your city.
Qualifications:
* Basic understanding of politics and international development.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
* Strong team player with innovative ideas.
* Decisive with independent judgment.
* Excellent communication skills—oral, written, and presentation.
Location: U.S., U.K., and Canada.
Salary: Unpaid.
Duration: 6 months.
Hours: 4-6 hours per week.
Start Date: Flexible; new programs begin monthly, and you can choose your start month.
