A fantastic development opportunity has arisen for a Junior Estimator or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our GNFR Procurement Team, supporting cost control for shopfitting and capital projects across our large, fast‑moving retail estate.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career - whether you're a recent graduate, trainee, or someone with some practical experience in construction or shopfitting who is looking to develop commercially. You’ll be joining a supportive team where you’ll learn how to review drawings, understand costs and contribute to the delivery of new Greggs shops nationwide.

About the role
17. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered

What you'll do
20. Support the review of contractor cost submissions for shopfits and refits
21. Learn how to validate measurements, specifications and quantities
22. Assist with producing cost estimates for new shop developments
23. Help challenge pricing using evidence and benchmarking
24. Maintain and update cost data, logs and standard schedules
25. Support research into cost drivers and value-for-money opportunities
26. Help resolve day‑to‑day supplier queries effectively
27. Contribute to Responsible Sourcing processes in line with ISO20400
28. Build relationships with internal teams and external partners
29. Provide general commercial and procurement support across capital projects
About you
You will fit right into this role if you:
30. Have a keen interest in construction, shopfitting, cost management or procurement
31. Have some experience or exposure to construction drawings, measurements or costings
32. Are studying towards or hold a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Estimating or a related field (or relevant experience)
33. Are highly numerate, analytical and comfortable working with data
34. Are confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues
35. Have strong organisational skills and enjoy working in a fast‑paced environment
36. Are curious, proactive and eager to learn
37. Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
