Job Title: English Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated English teacher to deliver inclusive, responsive, and innovative teaching within the curriculum area of English. The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4 classes, aiming to produce outstanding/good teaching and learning outcomes to ensure all learners succeed. You will oversee and support the English curriculum across the school, have tutor group responsibilities, and teach wellbeing, PSHE, and Skills lessons.
Under the direction of the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will carry out professional duties as outlined in current school policies, aligning with the school's ethos, organization, and policies. You will be a committed team member, contributing to the school's educational standards and student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the learning and achievement of all pupils in your classes, promoting equality of opportunity;
* Plan and prepare long-term and medium-term lessons;
* Maintain knowledge of relevant course content;
* Create a purposeful and engaging learning environment;
* Teach according to individual educational needs, including setting and marking work;
* Design lessons that motivate and raise attainment levels;
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent;
* Be adaptable in a fast-paced environment;
* Support colleagues in developing their practice;
* Work effectively with pupils with challenging behaviour.
