For Summer Term 2026, or as soon as is practicable, we seek to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational numeracy co-ordinator and teacher of Mathematics across the age and ability range. The ideal candidate should:
•Be able to teach across the age & ability range in Years 7 – 11
•Have a good understanding of the GCSE examination syllabus requirements (WJEC)
•Hold strong classroom management skills
•Be committed to raising achievement for students of all abilities
•Be able to motivate and engage students
•Be creative, determined, enthusiastic, resilient and passionate about delivering a high quality education to all pupils
• Have a secure understanding of the four purposes and Areas of Learning Experience in the new Curriculum for Wales
In addition, the candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
•Co-ordinate the teaching, learning and assessment of numeracy throughout the school in line with Curriculum for Wales Numeracy Framework.
•Work with the SLT and other stakeholders to develop a curriculum which enables learners to develop competence and capability in numeracy, and where there are opportunities, to extend and apply pupils’ numeracy skills across all Areas of Learning Experience.
•Develop and maintain strategies to raise attainment in numeracy across the school in relation to prior attainment and clearly identified baselines.
