EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are seeking to recruit a Freelance Land Surveyor at our Chipping Warden site in Northamptonshire on a short term basis initially.
About The Role
Supporting the Senior Land Surveyor in establishing and maintaining the site survey control network to report and validate different construction stages. You will undertake land/topographic/hydrographic/measured building surveys using equipment and technology such as robotics and 3D scanners. Analyze data with plans, maps, charts and software including AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center and GIS programs. You will prepare survey drawings with the Senior Land Surveyor, present data to clients and write reports. Coordinate with Site Engineers for project priorities, plan changes or deviations, and with the consultant for Inspection & Approval. Set out and as-built surveys; carry out Topographical and Engineering Surveys (Laser Scanner). Manage the registration and post processing of Point Cloud Data. GNSS network surveying, precise traversing and precise levelling for breakdown from primary survey control. Manage drone surveys for earthwork measures.
You will also be involved in coordinating with the project team on implementation and deviations, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

* Analyze survey data with AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and GIS software; produce survey drawings.
* Prepare surveys for review with the Senior Land Surveyor and present findings to clients; write reports.
* Coordinate with Site Engineers on project priorities, plan changes, and deviations; liaise with the consultant for Inspection & Approval.
* Conduct set-out and as-built surveys; perform topographical and engineering surveys (including laser scanning).
* Manage Point Cloud Data registration and post-processing; GNSS network surveying, precise traversing and levelling.
* Oversee drone surveys for earthwork measurement as required.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* HND/degree in Land Survey, Geomatics, or equivalent.
* Experience in a similar role and with related values.
* Experience in preparing survey-related Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
* Expert knowledge of Trimble total stations, levels and GNSS receivers.
* Excellent AutoCAD skills to produce 2D and 3D drawings.
* Strong written and verbal communication; solid report writing and compilation skills.
* Proficient in survey software such as Trimble Business Center.
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
