Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. As an MOT Tester, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and ensuring that vehicles meet safety and environmental standards.
Duties
* Conduct MOT tests in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
* Inspect vehicles for safety, emissions, and roadworthiness, ensuring compliance with regulations.
* Utilise schematics to diagnose issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
* Employ mechanical knowledge to assess various vehicle components, including brakes, lights, and steering systems.
* Use hand tools and power tools effectively for maintenance and repair tasks.
* Perform equipment repair and maintenance as required to ensure optimal performance of testing equipment.
* Assist in the assembly of components when necessary, ensuring all work is completed to high standards.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating findings clearly and offering advice on necessary repairs or maintenance.
* Handle heavy lifting when required during inspections or repairs, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
* Engage in welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.
Requirements
* Relevant qualifications as an MOT Tester with a valid certification.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively.
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
* Experience with heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with vehicle inspections.
