We are currently working in partnership with a social housing provider based in West Yorkshire, who are recruiting for a Fire Safety Officer on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start immediately and offers a day rate of up to £400 via an umbrella company, with the final rate dependent on experience. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) actions, carrying out fire safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with current legislation. They will be confident delivering training, working with contractors on fire safety systems, and maintaining accurate safety records. Duties will include (but are not limited to): Setting up and implementing systems to effectively manage fire risk assessment (FRA) findings, and provide clear guidance on required actions arising from FRA results to ensure timely and compliant remediation Carrying out detailed inspections of fire doors, windows, escape routes, and other critical fire safety features to ensure they are properly maintained and meet current fire safety standards Reviewing and updating fire safety policies and procedures to ensure they are in line with the latest legislation, guidelines, and best practices for social housing Providing fire safety training and awareness sessions for tenants, property management staff, and maintenance teams to promote safe practices and ensure understanding of fire risks and emergency protocols Collaborating with contractors and maintenance teams to oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire safety equipment, such as alarms, sprinklers, fire doors, and emergency lighting systems Investigating fire incidents, including conducting post-incident reviews, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence Monitoring ongoing compliance with fire safety regulations, conducting regular audits, and ensuring all required documentation, such as fire safety certificates and maintenance logs, are up-to-date and accurately recorded Experience required: Experience managing and actioning Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) findings Proven ability to carry out fire safety inspections (e.g. fire doors, escape routes) Knowledge of current fire safety legislation and compliance requirements Experience working with contractors to maintain fire safety systems and equipment Ability to maintain accurate records and support audits of fire safety compliance Working hours : 37 hours per week Monday - Friday, one day per week at home Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
