Hi, my name is Aspen and I am looking for an elderly care provider in Bishop's Stortford CM23. I am looking for some Part-Time care professionals locally in and around Bishop’s Stortford to help with the support of an elderly relative with dementia in their home.
You should have:
•Live within 15 miles of Bishop’s Stortord.
•Experience of working 1 to 1 with people who have had dementia.
•Be caring, patient, respectful and have excellent level of tolerance and understanding. A good sense of humour and simple communication is essential as they can easily be confused.
•DBS checked
•Excellent English speaking
•To be able to work weekends (rota)
•To be able to sleep over if the need arises in the future would be desirable
Key Responsibilities:
• Personal Care: Currently not needed – experience would be good if needed.
• Domestic Tasks: Helping with cleaning, laundry, changing bed, shopping,
and meal preparation.
• Medication Management: Overseeing and administering when necessary
medication.
• Mobility Assistance: Supporting with mobility, currently physical support needed
holding hand/supporting arm when walking out of the house/garden and getting into cars and the garden
• Emotional and Social Support: Providing the client with companionship, encouragement,
and support for social activities and all medical appointments.
• Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in their health and wellbeing.
This includes maintaining regular contact with all associated health
professionals such as: the doctors, dementia clinics, hospital, chiropodist,
physiotherapist, eye and hearing specialist.
• Good Communication: Maintaining open communication with us about the client and
other supporting team members
• Safety: Ensuring the persons safety and well-being at home and when out and
about. We should be contacted directly should there be any concerns or changes in their behaviour
• Promoting Independence: ‘gentle’ encouragement to support the persons continued independence in their day-to-day living activities including eating.
• Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of care provided, observations, and medication administration
