About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is looking for compassionate, reliable, and proactive Teaching Assistants to support a number of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools across Southampton. This is an ad-hoc position, ideal for individuals seeking flexible work that fits around other commitments while making a positive difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (ASD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and more).
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities.
* Support pupils with personal care, emotional regulation, and social development where required.
* Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Follow individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
* Adapt support to meet the unique needs of each child.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people (preferably in SEN settings).
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
* A willingness to take on flexible, short-notice assignments.
* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel).
* Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
