Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter - permanent contract minimum 20 hours, expected hours 25-35 per week
The Westgate is a welcoming pub with rooms located at the top of the High Street in Winchester. Overlooking the historic town centre, we offer a traditional style British pub experience with a selection of local ales, quality dining, boutique rooms and a warm welcome guaranteed.

What we look for in a Kitchen Assistant / Porter
We are looking for an existing commis chef, an excellent kitchen porter or an individual looking for their next step to their hospitality career, who consider themselves to have a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful kitchen assistant / porter you will be working alongside our team of talented chefs and your duties will include:
9. Be an active hands-on person with a passion to work hard as part of a team
10. Have high standards and a great work ethic
11. Show willingness to learn new skills; be an active team player with excellent communication skills
12. Preparing starters and desserts during service
13. Working alongside your kitchen team; you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to deliver top quality service
14. Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, ready for service
15. Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills to complete day to day tasks
