Freedom's Major Projects and Connections team has an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to support Project Olympus, a major 13km cable route scheme in London. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for NEC contract management, subcontractor performance, and commercial reporting across this high-profile project.
This is a key project requiring a technically strong, detail‑focused Quantity Surveyor with excellent skills in negotiation and experienced in final account administration.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
* Manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance and effective commercial control.
* Oversee subcontractor management, including variations, negotiations and final accounts.
* Lead on CVR production, cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
* Support commercial governance across the project, ensuring accurate documentation and audit compliance.
* Attend site 3–4 days per week to support commercial, operational and client requirements.
* Manage change control processes, early warnings and compensation events.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure alignment on cost, risk, and programme.
* Ensure strong communication with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience working under NEC contracts on live projects.
* Strong subcontractor management and final account negotiation experience.
* CVR and cost management expertise.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (RICS accredited preferred).
* Strong technical mindset, attention to detail and strong work ethic.
* Experience in cable route, civil engineering or M&E projects.
Desirable:
* Chartered or working towards chartership (RICS).
