Are you technically skilled with a background in Building Control/Inspection or Architecture and looking for an exciting new challenge? Join an award-winning, independent consultancy known for innovation and excellence.
This multi-disciplinary company has recently secured a 5-year nationwide program of works and is looking for three Principal Designers to lead these high-profile projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical and compliance aspects of the industry, rather than hands-on design work. Working autonomously, you'll focus on ensuring project compliance with current building regulations and CDM2015, with flexible options to work remotely or from one of their nine offices nationwide.
Whether coming from a Building Control/Inspection or Architectural background, this is a fantastic opportunity to step into an exciting and rewarding new challenge.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and deliver a portfolio of nationwide projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations and CDM2015.
2. Collaborate with external design teams, focusing on technical and compliance aspects rather than direct design work.
3. Provide expert technical advice to ensure design proposals meet safety and regulatory standards.
4. Contribute to shaping and growing the Principal Designer service line within the company.
5. Explore opportunities to diversify into other disciplines within the consultancy, with prospects for long-term career growth.
Requirements:
1. A strong background in Building Control/Inspection or Architecture, emphasizing technical work (no design work involved, primarily technical writing).
2. Deep understanding of current building regulations; knowledge of CDM2015 is a plus, with training provided if needed.
3. Excellent attention to detail and technical expertise.
4. A preference for compliance, regulatory work, and technical writing over drawing or hands-on design.
5. Ability to work autonomously and manage projects effectively.
This role offers a competitive salary (dependent on experience and qualifications), excellent benefits, and a friendly, collaborative, forward-thinking environment. There is long-term growth potential, including opportunities to diversify into other disciplines or develop the Principal Designer role into a standalone service line within the company.
