About the role
We’re seeking a strategic leader for this exciting role. You will develop and deliver a cohesive strategy for events and visitor economy programs, ensuring quality, safety, inclusivity, and strong governance. The position covers major events, operational and reputational management, destination planning, and partnership development. Key responsibilities include:
* Salford’s events programme
* Visitor economy and destination development
* Business tourism and conferencing growth
You will work across the council and with diverse partners to enhance Salford’s reputation, drive economic and social benefits, and support regeneration and placemaking.

You are an experienced, forward-thinking professional with a passion for placemaking and community engagement. You have a track record in event leadership, tourism, or destination management, and thrive in collaborative environments. Your vision and strategic approach will help drive Salford’s growth as a leading destination, creating value for residents, businesses, and visitors.
