Job Description
Costain is working with Thames Water on various water and wastewater projects and has opportunities for individuals to join our growing AMP7 delivery team, primarily across the Thames Valley and Thames South regions. Projects range from small capital maintenance to large civil new build schemes.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and issue accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence efficiently.
* Identify contractual and commercial risks and opportunities for the Contract Leader.
* Prepare and agree on payment applications and assess payment certificates.
* Maintain registers of variations, delays, extensions, and claims.
* Implement the company's commercial policies and procedures consistently.
* Assist with monthly progress valuations and claims for completed work.
* Prepare pre-Contract tender reports and negotiations.
* Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Leader Reports.
* Review value management and advise on risk management.
* Manage supply chain enquiries, negotiations, and contract finalizations.
* Plan and implement change management and cost control measures.
* Stay informed about current construction contracts.
* Report health, safety, and environmental risks to the Contract Leader or Project Manager.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Financial and commercial acumen.
* Practical, logical, and methodical approach.
* Experience with office management systems, including filing and document control.
* Experience in technical minute-taking, report preparation, and financial documentation.
* Strong contractual correspondence and collaborative problem-solving skills.
* Negotiating, team leadership, and motivational skills.
* Strong analytical abilities.
* Legal, contractual, and construction knowledge.
* Confidence and influence in discussions.
Qualifications
* Essential: RICS / CICES accredited degree.
