Currently CATS is transporting upwards of 15% of the UK gas demand daily. We are currently sourcing an Electrical Maintenance Technician (Senior Authorised Electrical Person) to join our team based at the CATS Terminal, Teesside. The successful candidate will be required to carry out routine electrical maintenance and project work. All activity to be executed safely, adhering to legislation, site standards and the requirements of the control of work system. Responsibilities People: • Coaching and mentoring of Electrical Apprentices & Improvers. Subject Matter Expertise: • Technically competent in own discipline and provide discipline support to the business. • Ensure self-awareness of relevant regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments. • Provide discipline input to work scope definition and execution. • Deputise for line as delegated. • Successful candidate would be expected to develop from Senior Authorised Electrical Person (SAEP) to Responsible Electrical Person (REP) at site. General: • Core role will be to assist, and lead where required, in the planning and execution of all electrical maintenance on site as defined within the asset CMMS. • Execute assigned personal objectives. • Management of vendors in the execution of operational delivery. • To be a member of the call out rota (1 week in 4) to support Process Operations during out of hours events, at the CATS Terminal and the Beach Valve Station at Redcar. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: • Technical training to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent qualification. • CompEx / ATEX certification (EX01-04) • EAWR 1989 • BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations – 18th Edition • HV/LV Switching • Protection Relays of Electrical Power Systems • Portable Appliance Testing Minimum Experience: • Excellent practical knowledge of process / systems plant and equipment relevant to the industry sector in own discipline area. • Appropriate experience of operating and maintaining offshore/onshore HV & LV Power systems. This shall include Generators, Power Transformers, Switchgear, motors and associated protection equipment, UPS Systems and Battery systems. • Accurately read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications. • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and industry standards throughout all installation and maintenance operations. Preferred Experience: • Knowledge of and experience operating and isolating HV & LV generating and distribution systems. • Specifying, Installing, Maintaining and Repairing ATEX certified equipment. • Experience of testing, commissioning and fault finding on HV & LV • Operation of the HV generation systems including synchronising of generators.
