A reputable secondary school in Stockport is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their support department. Key Responsibilities:
* Work under the direction of the SENCO and class teachers to provide individual and group support across a range of subjects.
* Support pupils with SEND, low prior attainment, or those needing emotional and behavioural guidance.
* Assist with learning tasks in and out of the classroom to help raise engagement and attainment.
* Encourage positive behaviour and self-esteem in students through praise and support strategies.
* Keep accurate records of pupil progress and observations to inform staff and future planning.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience as a teaching assistant, youth mentor, care worker, or in a similar role working with young people.
* Confidence working with a range of student needs including SEN, low literacy/numeracy, and EAL.
* A positive, calm and flexible approach to challenges in the classroom.
* Good organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with pupils.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; additional qualifications in child development or education are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
