Would you like a role where your visible presence genuinely makes a difference to people’s safety and experience every single day? What will your day look like? As a Resort Safety Officer, you’ll be the friendly, visible presence that helps keep Cleethorpes safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. Your day could include: Patrolling Cleethorpes beach, seafront and resort areas, providing reassurance and a highly visible frontline service Offering advice and information to visitors and residents on safe use of the beach, tides, local restrictions and environmental protection Monitoring the resort through patrols and CCTV, responding to emerging risks such as weather, tides or crowd levels Operating the First Aid Post and administering first aid when required, including responding to incidents involving children and vulnerable adults Working closely with partners such as the RNLI, HM Coastguard and internal council teams to support public safety Helping lost children, supporting visitors and assisting during incidents or emergencies Protecting Cleethorpes’ natural environment, including the SSSI, by observing and reporting environmental concerns Reporting anti‑social behaviour, safety hazards, maintenance issues or unauthorised trading activity to the appropriate teams No two days are the same – it’s an active, people‑focused role where what you do really matters. Who are we looking for? We’re looking for approachable, confident and community‑minded individuals who enjoy working outdoors and engaging positively with the public. You’ll bring experience from a frontline, customer‑facing role and feel comfortable dealing with a wide range of people, including managing challenging situations calmly and professionally. You’ll be able to communicate clearly, providing advice in accurate spoken English, and work flexibly and independently, including during periods of lone working. A strong awareness of health and safety and public service values is essential, along with the willingness to work in all weather conditions and across different areas of the resort. You’ll also need: 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) A full valid UK driving licence Willingness to work a 7‑day rota, including weekends and evenings Ability to pass a standard DBS check First aid and beach or environmental knowledge are desirable – full training and support will be provided Why join us? Working Pattern: Rota‑based, including weekends, bank holidays. This post is annualised hours, 32 hours in the winter (1st October to 31st March) and 42 hours in the summer (1st April to 30th September).
