The role
The Procurement function is growing to meet the changing and complex needs of the Electoral Commission. In this new and vital role, you’ll have every opportunity to apply your expertise across different areas, providing commercial advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Using your extensive experience in commercial roles, you’ll take the lead on commercial and tendering activities, from request to award, driving value for money and ensuring compliance with Government regulations and frameworks.
This is an exciting time to join the Electoral Commission, with the electoral system making key changes and the horizon for government procurement changing too. You’ll oversee delivery of the procurement service, contract life cycle, and supplier management activities, thus protecting our commercial risk exposure.

You should hold or be working towards being a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) qualification. As a skilled communicator, you’ll be confident building relationships with everyone you meet, from the budget holders to the contractors you negotiate with. You’ll understand contract regulation and frameworks, particularly in central government, and have a broad working knowledge of the supply market and services contracts. Overall, you’ll be flexible, collaborative and keen to develop the procurement service and yourself.
Please note that this role will require occasional visits to our London offices in Bunhill Row EC1Y.
