The Business Partner is a new role in digital and data which will support the Head of Business Change and Innovation in achieving transformational change and programme delivery to support our service users better. The role will be a key link between digital and data services and the wider Trust. The postholder will be aligned to specific functions in the Trust (to be agreed) and gain a very close working knowledge of their needs, priorities and plans. They will use this knowledge, working with colleagues in digital and data, to align the service offering via the SIAM tower providers.

This post holder will require excellent communication and relationship management skills, as well as a sound technical understanding of the digital and data estate, emerging technologies and capabilities in the market, process analysis and optimisation, and experience of successful project delivery. This will need to be combined with a detailed knowledge of the Trust's operations and changing needs, both clinical and non-clinical. The post holder will need to build a good understanding of the wider Trust ecosystem of the NW London community, mental health collaborative, ICSS, Local Authorities, and other Trusts. They will work towards a future vision of service delivery, based on insight and new thinking, and help to deliver pragmatic programmes of work to realise this.


Main duties of the job

In this role you will act as a bridge between clinical and non-clinical services and the Digital & Data function, helping the Trust get maximum value from its digital, data and technology investments. You will develop a deep understanding of the business areas you support - their priorities, workflows, challenges and ambitions - and translate these into clear, structured requirements for digital and data services.

The role has a strong focus on improvement and assurance. You will help identify opportunities for new initiatives.

Skills and experience we're looking for include:

* Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
* Experience in business analysis, service improvement and business change
* Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex ideas clearly to different audiences
* Experience supporting digital, data or IT-enabled change, ideally in a healthcare or similarly complex environment
* Good understanding of project and programme delivery, including risk and benefits management
* Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and insight to shape decisions
* Awareness of NHS regulatory, policy and information governance requirements (or willingness to develop this)
* Financial awareness and the ability to work within budget constraints
* Flexibility to travel across Trust sites in North and West London and Hertfordshire, and occasionally nationally.

Person Specification


Education/Qualification

* Masters degree, or equivalent, plus relevant professional and technical knowledge in several disciplines e.g. information systems, change management, project management, finance
* Management training, qualifications or experience
* A higher degree in relevant subject matter


Experience

* Extensive experience of digital and data and business relationship management
* Experience of working with external resources from suppliers as well as in-house teams to delivery coherent joined up programmes of work
* Experience of applying innovation and ideation approaches, to generate and develop new solutions that can be practically applied to the benefit of the organisation
* Experience of complex stakeholder management and engagement within, and across, organisations, including effective communication up to Board level
* Experience of presenting complex and sensitive information to key stakeholders and groups
* Experience of programme performance reporting, benefits management and realisation
* Experience of budgetary responsible, including budget setting with evidence of working knowledge of financial processes
* Experience of risk and issue management, including applying mitigations and other actions to secure benefits where these have been in jeopardy
* Experience of managing contractual change control processes including supporting the development and review of business cases, and reviewing contract documentation
* Experience of working effectively with professional advisors such as lawyers, procurement specialists and commercial advisors
* Good working knowledge of the NHS and the work of a community Trust
* Strategic procurement experience
* Experience of line management of staff, including staff development and performance reviews


skills and knowledge

* Specialist knowledge of digital and data capabilities and emerging technologies, and how these can be applied operationally within complex organisations. This should have been obtained both through training and experience
* Highly developed specialist knowledge as well as practical experience of working with a variety of change control and workforce redesign approaches
* Excellent presentation and communication skills - ability to engage with all levels of staff, and contribute in as well as lead, meetings. Able to present to large groups of staff and facilitate workshops
* Excellent analytical skills to assimilate information from multiple sources (such as performance reports, KPI metrics, and staff feedback), analyse it, and if required set out options and make recommendations, before agreeing an appropriate response
* Ability to work with business stakeholders to define and structure their requirements for digital and data services and agree priorities, and then to work collaboratively to develop coherent delivery plans with identified resources
* Ability to support and monitor project and programme delivery, and address underperformance as appropriate
* o Skilled in encouraging collaborative working to improve service/performance and implement new initiatives, overcoming resistance to change where necessary
* Good organisational and customer service skills
* Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders, contractors and managers on difficult and controversial issues
* Able to concentrate for prolonged periods of time and remain focussed, work unsupervised and self-directed, and to set and attain objectives
* Excellent IT skills including advanced keyboard skills and a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, including data manipulation using MS Excel, and other common business software products
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and workstreams
* o Experience of working in the NHS or a similar care environment, especially related to community care provision
* Skill and experience in applying business improvement approaches and methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Reengineering etc
* Knowledge of GDPR, NHS Digital requirements, Data Protection Act, and healthcare-specific regulations.
* Awareness of security threats and best practices for protecting patient data
* Understanding of ITIL, ITSM, and governance frameworks
* Experience with AI, automation, cloud computing, system interoperability and other modern IT solutions in healthcare
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex commercial information to stakeholders at all levels in the organisation. It will be necessary to help Trust stakeholders understand risks, issues and options in clear terms and provide advice for these stakeholders to help them make decisions
* Judgement: Balancing cost and risk to provide pragmatic and informed advice will require sound judgement
* Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively across departments and organisations, building strong working relationships with IT, clinical, and governance teams, as well as externally with the suppliers and other Trust partners
* Situational awareness: Skilled in maintaining awareness across a wide range of organisations and stakeholders, to understand the changing clinical, organisational and technical needs in the Trust
* Adaptable: Able to adapt well to different working environments and changing requirements
* Problem solving: Ability to identify risks, issues and opportunities, create solutions and resolve problems in relation to service provision
* Demonstrable experience of strategic thinking and the ability to apply it within an organisation
* Able to help evaluate digital investments based on evidence and their value
* Capable of influencing senior stakeholders and gaining buy-in for IT initiatives
* Keeps calm under pressure, especially when dealing with critical IT incidents
