We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join us at the Kurt J. Lesker Company at our European headquarters based in St. Leonards, East Sussex. The fixed working pattern for this position is Monday – Thursday 08.00am – 5.00pm and Friday 08.00am – 14.30pm Key Job Elements: Meet the requirements of Quality Control Technician level 1 MSJ-GEN-321 Perform visual and dimensional inspection using established quality methods and procedures. Verify compliance of materials and components. Perform visual and dimensional inspection of complex products and components per established acceptance criteria and requirements of engineering drawing specifications. Complete inspection forms and update records. Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance to Company and Health and Safety guidelines. Assist with the monitoring and implementation of the company’s Hold Tag process. Maintenance of the calibration database and organising of calibration of all company gauges and measuring equipment. Promote quality first principles in all aspects of the role. Approval and rejection of products based on sample level of inspection. Advanced understanding of measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, rules, feeler gauges, height gauges, slip gauges, and an advanced use of the faro arm. Generation of Faro programming. Generation of full article inspection reports (FAI). Maintain records of leak checking and traceability where applicable. Assist in the evaluation of new supplier qualification. Ability to balance and operate multiple tasks to maximise efficiency. Promote interaction with, machinists, Engineering, and Product/Production Management to solve problems and improve processes. Assist with the processing of customer “returns”, this will involve evaluating product, recording all relevant data, liaising with Procurement and Product Management and acting upon all associated requests in the process. Qualifications: Required Faro Arm (CMM) experience. ONC/HNC (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience in a related field. Advanced understanding of mathematics, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
