Overview
Permanent, Part Time (0.6) - £23,806 - £28,641 per annum. Sessional - £41.32 - £49.71 per hour. The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning and Employability at Kingston College are looking to appoint a Lecturer to teach a combination of GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills. The GCSE teaching will be predominantly to students aged 16-19 years of age. For English Functional Skills classes we allocate 2 hours of teaching a week.
You will follow our agreed schemes of work and assessment schedules, and you will be expected to set a minimum of one piece of marked work each class every week. This will be recorded on Pro-Monitor. You will prepare students for June exams, marking home works and mock exams, student monitoring and where appropriate curriculum development.
Responsibilities
As our Lecturer, you will:
* Hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject.
* Hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
* Demonstrate excellent teaching skills in GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.
* Be energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about the subject and education.
* Support, motivate and empathise with learners; monitor their progress.
* Use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
* Maintain awareness of academic quality standards and have high personal standards and expectations.
* Plan, prepare, stay organised with good administrative skills and attention to detail; work well under pressure to deadlines.
Qualifications
Requirements include a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one), and strong ability in GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English.
