Job Description: The EHCP Assistant Practitioner provides comprehensive administrative and casework support within the EHC team, ensuring statutory processes are followed efficiently. The role involves handling initial enquiries, liaising with families and professionals, supporting case tracking, and drafting and amending EHC Plans within statutory timescales. The role also contributes to ensuring the smooth operation of the EHC assessment and planning process, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries regarding the statutory EHC needs assessment process, providing accurate and impartial information. Support families and professionals by explaining EHC process timelines and expectations. Draft, review, and amend EHC Plans based on information provided by professionals and service users, ensuring clarity and accuracy. Ensure all EHC needs assessments are completed within statutory timescales and adhere to legal requirements. Gather, process, and update case information in relevant databases. Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress Key Accountabilities 1.Deliver high-quality administrative and casework support to meet statutory EHC requirements. 2.Ensure timely and accurate completion of EHC needs assessments. 3.Maintain clear, accurate, and organized case records in compliance with council policies and data protection laws. Education and Knowledge GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent). NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or equivalent relevant experience. Personal skills and general competencies Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, including empathy and active listening. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
