Mental Health Solicitor Overview:
My client is recruiting a Mental Health Solicitor with experience or knowledge in mental capacity and Court of Protection matters. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in mental health casework and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities of the Mental Health Solicitor:
* Meet the LAA supervisor requirements for the Mental Health legal aid contract.
* Handle a range of mental health casework, including tribunal representation.
* Address issues arising from s.117 aftercare.
* Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Develop and implement compliant processes, procedures, and precedents.
* Self-supervise effectively.
Requirements of the Mental Health Solicitor:
* Experience across a range of mental health casework, including tribunal representation.
* Knowledge of s.117 aftercare.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience in creating and implementing team-wide processes.
* Ability to self-supervise.
Desirable:
* Knowledge and experience in mental capacity and Court of Protection proceedings, including managing your own caseload.
* Experience supervising other team members.
* Relevant professional contacts and the ability to attract your own cases.
* Ability to write and deliver training on mental health and mental capacity law issues.
