CNC Miller / Turner (Setter/Operator)

Salary: £18.00 – £25.00 per hour (DOE)

The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Miller/Turner (Setter/Operator) to join a well-established and growing precision engineering company based in Southend-on-Sea. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who is confident setting and operating CNC machinery using Fanuc controls.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
* Working with Fanuc control systems
* Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
* Producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances
* Conducting in-process inspections using measuring equipment
* Ensuring machines are running efficiently and safely
* Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
Requirements
* Proven experience as a CNC Miller, Turner, or Miller/Turner
* Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls
* Ability to set and operate machines independently
* Competence in reading technical drawings
* Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards
* Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Team player with a proactive attitude
Desirable (but not essential)
* Programming experience (online or offline)
* Experience with a variety of materials (e.g. aluminium, steel, plastics)
* Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
