Consultant Psychiatrist - Autism Spectrum Disorder Service
The Bristol Autism Spectrum Service (BASS) is a nationally-recognised specialist autism team. BASS currently offers three main areas of provision: a diagnostic clinic, a post-diagnostic support service, and a training & liaison service for professionals working with autistic adults.
As overall clinical lead, you will be responsible for the ongoing development, operation and evaluation of the service. You will provide clinical supervision, direction and leadership to a highly specialist multidisciplinary team of autism clinicians, shape the nature of the work undertaken by clinicians, and lead implementation of a full service redesign.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical supervision, direction and leadership to a multidisciplinary team of autism clinicians.
* Develop and improve operational processes and quality of care within the assessment pathway.
* Work closely with commissioning and senior management to provide strategic direction and define priorities for service development.
* Lead the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of the service redesign in collaboration with commissioning and Trust management.
* Undertake complex assessments of people referred to the service and contribute to post-diagnostic support for autistic people.
* Contribute to training and supervision of professionals across the care pathway, engage in clinical audit, research and development, and support families and carers.
