SENCo - Hedgeway
Location: Pilning, South Gloucestershire, BS35 4JN
Salary: £31,650 - £47,338 (M1 - UPS2)
Hours: 40 hours per week

Aurora Hedgeway is a dynamic provision for children and young people aged 7-19 with Autism and related social and communication needs.
The Aurora Group provides education and care for children with special educational needs and disabilities. We are seeking an experienced Full-Time SENCO for Aurora Hedgeway School, which supports young people with Autism and related needs, offering various qualifications and a focus on life skills.
Main Purpose of the Role
As SENCo, you will support the SLT and Headteacher in managing the school's SEN provision, overseeing daily operations to improve pupil achievement and teaching quality for SEN students.
Key Duties
* Identify effective teaching approaches for SEN pupils and ensure staff dissemination.
* Monitor teaching activities and track data for reviews and reporting.
* Coordinate with other schools and support teams for student transitions.
* Set achievement targets and analyze assessment data.
* Ensure staff understand statutory responsibilities for SEN.
* Provide training for staff on SEN topics, including whole-school inset.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
* SENCO qualifications and Qualified Teacher Status.
* Experience with pupils with SEN and SEND Code of Practice.
* Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and EHCP outcomes.
* Experience managing challenging behaviors.
