Join to apply for the Gas Turbine Stress Engineer role at Frazer-Nash Consultancy
We are looking to recruit an engineer experienced in assessing the structural integrity of gas turbines to support growing demand from clients in the aerospace and power industries. Primarily using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, you will conduct strength, fatigue (low cycle and high cycle fatigue), creep, and defect tolerance assessments of safety-critical parts. Your work will help develop new designs, solve operational problems, and justify the life extension of existing assets. Additionally, you will write bespoke software tools to assess components more efficiently and accurately.
Opportunities include delivering and leading projects across the Frazer-Nash portfolio, supporting sectors such as defence, energy, and transport. Projects vary in duration and scope, requiring involvement in multiple projects simultaneously. You will communicate with clients to understand their needs and develop approaches to meet their expectations.
While primarily technical, this role encourages cross-business collaboration and client interaction. Strong interpersonal skills, decision-making, problem-solving, initiative, and ownership are essential. Reporting to your Group Leader, you will be responsible for your work, supported by experienced engineers, and will also mentor junior staff and contribute to service development and strategy. There are ample opportunities for professional growth.
