Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that from 1 April 2023, roles requiring PVG membership will require candidates to meet the cost, which applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above). The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership (£18 for existing members, £59 for non-members), and this cost will be deducted from the first full month's salary.
Job Purpose
To deliver quality education to assigned pupils and contribute to the professional, corporate life of the school in relation to pupils, staff, and external bodies within the SNC T agreements.
Requirements
* Appropriate teaching qualification
* Full GTC (Scotland) registration in the relevant subject/sector, or eligibility for such registration
* PVG scheme membership
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate the ability to teach the full curriculum and develop the curriculum
* Manage and organise classes through planning and preparation
* Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress
* Prepare pupils for examinations and qualifications, including administration support if required
* Contribute to good order and the wider needs of the school
* Participate in school and council planning and improvement processes
* Maintain and develop professional knowledge and skills, contributing to colleagues' professional development
