Your new role
Reporting into the Director, they require a Senior Estimator who will lead the full estimating function, acting as a key advisor to senior project teams across refurbishment, fit‑out and construction projects.
Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate cost planning,petitive tender submissions, robustmercial strategies, and continual improvement of estimating processes.
You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and ensure safe, efficient and profitable project delivery.
Duties:
1. Lead and manage all activities within the estimating department
2. Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs and tender submissions
3. Review and interpret contract designs, drawings, specifications and associated documentation
4. Analyse project plans, materials, and time requirements
5. Liaise with clients, agents and on‑site personnel to gather key project data
6. Prepare and submitpetitive bids and tenders
7. Assess project profitability and identify improvements in efficiency
8. Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and develop value‑engineering options
9. Monitor and report on project cost performance
10. Prepare valuations and final accounts
11. Work with project managers to align estimates with delivery plans
12. Support pre‑construction discussions and manage adjustments
13. Identify opportunities to improve services and contribute to business development
14. Assist with procurement of new clients, suppliers and stakeholders
15. Maintain high levels of client satisfaction
16. Promote strong Health & Safety practices
17. Use bespokeputer systems, Microsoft Office tools and estimating software
18. Undertake any additional duties required for the needs of the business
What you'll need to succeed
19. Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar discipline
20. Significant estimating experience within a construction or refurbishment environment
21. Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documentation
22. Excellent technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations and refurbishment constraints
23. Strong leadership, organisational and management skills
24. Experience in pre‑construction strategy and good market awareness
25. Proficiency with relevant IT systems and estimating software
