Position: Band 6 Biomedical Scientist – Haematology/Blood Transfusion Location: Carmarthen, UK Salary: £26.43 Hourly Contract: ASAP-31/08/2026 Hours: Full-time, 40 hours a week with routine days from 9am to 5pm, long days from 9am to 9pm, and night shifts from 9pm to 9am
What you will do:
* Perform routine and specialised laboratory tests in haematology, coagulation, and blood transfusion, ensuring results are accurate and timely for patient diagnosis and treatment.
* Operate and maintain Siemens Advias, Werfen Tops, and Ortho Swifts analysers, making sure they are calibrated and functioning optimally.
* Adhere to standard operating procedures and guidelines while maintaining the highest quality control standards within the laboratory.
* Engage in continuous quality improvement processes, contributing to the enhancement and efficiency of laboratory practices.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide expert advice and support to medical staff and colleagues on test selection and interpretation.
