We have an exciting opportunity to join our new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home as a Waking Night Residential Children & Young People's Worker, on a full-time permanent basis. Location of the post: Hinckley, Leicestershire. Hours: 9:45pm – 8:15am (4 shifts on, 4 shifts off) This post carries a salary enhancement in the form of a Night Shift Premium allowance in recognition of the unsociable hours element of the role (Calculated at a third of hourly rate) Jarvis House, our beautiful new Emotional Well-being Assessment home in Hinkley will support children & young people aged between 8-18 providing short term placements until their needs are fully appraised and understood. The service will provide up to 3 service users at any one-time opportunities to enjoy different experiences, establish friendships and develop confidence, independence and social/emotional skills. Some of the responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: To build trust and develop nurturing relationships which promote the service user's independence, wellbeing, strengths, and capabilities. To work in partnership and build relationships with parents/carers and other professionals. To contribute to the upkeep of the home including cooking, cleaning etc. To document information accurately and ensure records are kept up to date. To ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to. To promote, monitor and maintain a safe environment at all times. Essential requirements to evidence in your written application: Must hold a valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (due to no public transport available during working hours) Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare OR be willing to successfully achieve this within the required timeframe. Relevant experience working with children & young people in a children's home setting. Flexibility to commit to shift work, including weekends and bank holidays. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. There is an expectation for night staff to make themselves available during the day with advance notice at scheduled times to attend mandatory training and ongoing group supervision and consultation in line with duties related to their role. Please note: Although Jarvis House will be your base location, you must be flexible to travel throughout the locality to work in our other Leicestershire Residential Homes, as and when the need arises.
